Cloud Engineering Lead.
TheCloud Engineering Lead is responsible for shaping and realizing the vision for cloud computing strategy at Corteva. You will be working across multiple public cloud providers and private cloud to focus on creating efficient, secure, and value-rich processes for onboarding and operations. You will work in collaboration with application teams to help ensure that workloads are well-placed and well-architected. You will also work with FinOps teams to ensure cloud costs are optimized. You will be leading a team of engineers responsible for the design, implementation, and operations of our cloud environments. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, hands-on technical ability, leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. This role reports to the Infrastructure and Operations Compute Leader.
The ideal candidate for this position has a proven track record of leading Cloud Engineering in a large global, or multi-regional organization. The candidate needs to be comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative, and highly matrixed environment. This includes working with ambiguity, creating operational maturity vs. having it already in place, and have successful experience managing operations and hiring and developing talent.
How does an Engineering Lead work?
Through Strategic Partnerships: Build and maintain strong and credible relationships across Corteva IT and our strategic partners and vendors.
Harmonizes Business Needs and IT Strategies: Keeps a secure and differentiating employee or customer experience at the forefront of all they do. Oversees clear business capability definition and ensures alignment to technology products and services are in place to support.
Enables a High-Quality IT Product Portfolio: Drives value realization from products, services, interactions, assets, and capabilities as defined by business cases or similar tools.
Monitors IT Products, Platforms, and Services:

Regularly review metrics and health dashboards to assess availability and productivity of the products in their portfolio; proactively identifies services and service levels to manage business-partner expectations.

What are the Cloud Engineering Lead's Primary Responsibilities - What you will do to help us grow
Lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of cloud solutions. Implement best practices for system security, performance optimization, and monitoring.
Define and socialize cloud strategy, architecture, and best practices within the organization.
Maintain expertise in cloud service provider offerings (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
Identifying and leveraging cloud technologies and tools to solve complex problems.
Provide on-call support for the Cloud Engineering Team as needed to ensure 24/7 system availability.
Implement and enforce security policies and procedures to safeguard data and systems and assure effective Cloud Security Posture Management.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Optimize cloud spend for workloads to drive cost-efficiency.
Implementing policies and automation for cost monitoring and management.
Seek, embrace, and maintain strategic partnerships with product vendors and suppliers.
Maintain high levels of security, availability, performance, and scalability of infrastructure operations.
Establish, maintain, and regularly test robust disaster recovery / business continuity plans and processes for their portfolio.
Establish strong connections between the respective teams within IT. They should have a deep understanding of the interdependent relationship between infrastructure, information security and the applications/services.
Ensure personnel and infrastructure are in compliance with external FDA & SOX regulations and any other relevant regional or local regulations (e.g. GDPR). Participate in audits as required.
Develop and maintain close partnerships with associated functions within Corteva IT including: Software Development and Support, ERP, Enterprise Architecture, Portfolio and Program Management, and Cybersecurity.
Provides leadership, coaching and direction to a team of highly skilled global workforce of employee and contingent workers.
Incorporate operational excellence standards into daily operations to continually improve performance.
Qualifications
Experience and Education What you'll bring to the table
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years' experience in cloud administration and cloud engineering (Azure and AWS).
Proven experience leading centralized cloud engineering teams for enterprise at scale.
Strong knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python), especially for automation, API integration, and testing.
Experience with virtualization and containerization technologies (e.g., VMware, Nutanix, Kubernetes).
Strong practical knowledge of Terraform and Infrastructure as Code tools.
Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, or Chef).
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Excellent product management skills.
Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
Strong ability to engage with a global team and provide coaching and oversight.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks within the constraints of timeline and budget.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and master diverse technologies and techniques.
Other Preferred Qualifications
Professional Certifications in Azure and/or AWS a plus.
ITIL, Agile, PMP certification(s).
Operating in an Infrastructure as Product (IaP) environment.
Experience in strategy, customer service, and internal consulting.
Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
