The Operations Team at LILT LILT’s operations team focuses on onboarding and post-sales engineering for enterprise and mid-market customers, who use our AI technology for their multilingual content requirements. Our team engages with customers from post-sales through steady-state production and is made up of experts in various functional and technical areas of LILT’s overall offering. While we work in various locations, we are highly collaborative within the team and have tight interactions with our colleagues in the LILT Sales, Product, Engineering, and Production teams. Additionally, we operate as critical members of account-based teams that ensure LILT’s technology is utilized to deliver maximum value to our customers. Where You’ll Work This position is based out of our Indianapolis, IN offices and will be expected to work in the office in a hybrid capacity. Additional locations include the Washington D.C., New York City, and Boston metropolitan areas where you will start as fully remote and then transition to hybrid once offices are opened in those locations. Authorization to work in the UK or Germany respectively is a precondition of employment. What You’ll Do We're looking for an experienced post-sales engineer with a localization background who loves solving hard problems, ensuring work is done on time to keep the customer experience seamless, and interacting with a variety of stakeholders. This position is for someone who has strong technical aptitude, extensive customer-facing experience, and the ability to manage competing priorities from multiple customers at once. You will work hand-in-hand with Sales, Product, Engineering, Services, and Marketing teams to bring our platform to clients and prospects. You will be responsible for providing the technical expertise to make LILT customers successful. You will have a broad range of skills and experience ranging from global content management lifecycle, a working knowledge of NLP/MT, TM, glossary, and content pipelines and integrations. You will have the insight to make the connection between a customer’s specific business problems and LILT's solution, the customer-facing skills to communicate that connection and vision to a wide variety of technical and executive audiences, and the technical skills to be able to not only build demos and execute proof-of-concepts but also to provide consultative assistance on architecture and implementation. Key Responsibilities: Debug, resolve, or escalate issues related to LILT’s Connector stack, file filters, and the Okapi Framework. Assist with resolving customer pre- and post-processing challenges, including localization file prep. Collaborate with production teams to implement technology-enabled workflows and set up LILT Connectors and file filters. Continuously improve and suggest improvements to internal and customer localization engineering processes. Document customer configurations and playbooks for common operating procedures. Understanding of XLIFF, TMX, TBX, and SRX formats (purpose, structure, specifications). Familiarity with key localization terms (source, target, translation unit, etc.). Knowledge of localization (l10n) and internationalization (i18n) best practices. Knowledge of common file formats (JSON, XML, HTML, CSV, PO, YAML, STRINGS, RESX, PROPERTIES) including syntax and escaping. Exposure to translation tools (TMX editors, alignment software, diffing software, OCR software). Proficiency in RegEx for text processing tasks (pattern matching, extraction, manipulation). Understanding of encoding standards and character sets. Familiarity with Okapi Framework (Rainbow, components, concepts). Knowledge of localization platforms/technologies (CAT, TMS, TM, MT, LMS, CMS, LLM). Coding skills (Python for scripting, Java for Okapi Framework). Understanding of software development principles and APIs. Familiarity with version control systems (Git). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Problem-solving skills and ability to analyze issues. Our Story Our founders, Spence and John met at Google working on Google Translate. As researchers at Stanford and Berkeley, they both worked on language technology to make information accessible to everyone. They were amazed to learn that Google Translate wasn’t used for enterprise products and services inside the company and left to start a new company to address this need – LILT. At its core, LILT has always been a machine learning company since its incorporation on March 6, 2015. At the time, machine translation didn’t meet the quality standard for enterprise translations, so LILT assembled a cutting-edge research team tasked with closing that gap. While meeting customer demand for translation services, LILT has prioritized investments in Large Language Models, believing that this foundation was imperative to the future of enterprise translation.
