AVS Machine Learning Engineer

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories seeks an automation and machine learning Engineer to join our team. You will be working with a small, agile group that owns manufacturing testing. We collaborate with a variety of stakeholders to deliver high quality test solutions and services to our customers in a timely manner. Our work is dynamic and active, from schematic layout and bench testing to implementation and support on the manufacturing floor. As an Automation and Machine Learning Engineer, a typical day might include the following:

Create optical inspection process for a Human Machine Interface (HMI).
Create an automated inspection process that capture assembly errors.
Understand and modify electrical schematics for existing products and test solutions.
Have a working understanding of modern programming languages, like C#, as well as gain proficiency in SEL proprietary scripting languages.
Apply theoretical understanding to the development of real-world solutions that enhance quality and efficiency in the manufacturing environment.
Gather and analyze data to identify process or test improvement opportunities.
Present information through effective communication to various audiences.
Contribute positively to team and department problem solving discussions and continuous improvement efforts.
This job might be for you if:

You have a Bachelors degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
You have practical knowledge of electrical circuits.
You have knowledge of automated optical inspection and robotics.
You have experience in programming and script files.
You have practical knowledge of SEL protective relays and how they are implemented in the power system.
You have project management experience.

Pay Range Data

We base our starting pay offer on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills. The salary range for this position is between $69,100 and $108,100 annually. Our ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location.
