Wage Range: $25.51 - $35.71
POSITION SUMMARY
The Sustainability Coordinator at Crystal Mountain Ski Resort is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing sustainability initiatives that enhance the resort's environmental performance. This role involves coordinating efforts across various departments to ensure that sustainability practices are integrated into daily operations, strategic
planning, and community engagement. This position will work with the marketing team and human resources team on community projects and other Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives and special projects. The Sustainability Coordinator position is expected to be 50% sustainability tasks and 50% CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) and special project tasks. As business needs change, this ratio will adjust.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
•Design and implement sustainability programs and projects that align with the resort's environmental goals.
•Conduct research to identify best practices in sustainability and recommend improvements.
•Work with operations teams to optimize energy use, waste management, water conservation, and other resource efficiencies.
•Monitor and report on the resort's environmental performance metrics.
•Lead educational initiatives to promote environmental awareness among guests, staff, and the local community.
•Foster partnerships with local organizations, government agencies, and environmental groups.
•Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability standards.
•Prepare and present sustainability reports to senior management and stakeholders.
•Train staff on sustainability practices and policies.
•Provide support and guidance to departments in implementing sustainability initiatives.
•Plan and coordinate sustainability-related events, campaigns, and activities.
•Participate in and represent the resort as Crystal Mountain's representative to Alterra.
•Work with the marketing and HR teams on CSR initiatives and special projects.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS
•Strong knowledge of sustainability practices and environmental regulations.
•Excellent project management and organizational skills.
•Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
•Excellent presentation skills; speaking, writing, and designing presentations.
•Passion for environmental stewardship and sustainable practices.
•Experience in the hospitality or resort industry is a plus.
EDUCATION
•Bachelor's degree in environmental science, sustainability, or a related field - preferred
WORK EXPERIENCE
•Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in sustainability or environmental management.
