Duties:

The Township Engineer shall perform such duties as are prescribed by general law and ordinance and, in addition, shall:
•Prepares all plans, designs and specifications for public projects and improvements undertaken by the Township; Maintains all papers, documents, memoranda, reports, and other materials relating to the administration of engineering duties
•Provides and maintains surveys, maps, plan specifications and control records with respect to public projects owned and operated by the Township
•Leads and performs planning, design, permitting and construction management of capital infrastructure projects
•Assists in preparing grant applications and grant management
•Provides technical and engineering advice and assistance to other Township departments and divisions
•Recommends to the Mayor and Council the undertaking of needed capital projects with the Township
•Assists in the formation and implementation of the Township capital budget
•Assigns, with the approval of the Mayor or Business Administrator, projects to these special consulting engineers authorized by the governing body, and supervise the same
•Directs and supervises all personnel within the division
•Prepares monthly reports for Township Council.

Qualifications:

A combination of experience in the following areas preferred: design of roadway resurfacing and reconstruction, stormwater management, capital project management, municipal infrastructure, and civil site projects.

A general working knowledge of engineering methods, NJDEP Flood Hazard Area Control Act Rules, Municipal Land Use Law and NJ Stormwater Regulations.

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.

5 years' experience in state, county, regional or municipal engineering activities.

Duly licensed as a professional Engineer in the State of New Jersey for at least 5 years.
