Johnson Service Group, a nationally recognized staffing firm, is targeting a Senior Substation Electrical Engineer for our engineering client.

This individual will support our client’s Transmission Services team working from their office in Newark, New Jersey.

JOB DUTIES :

· Manage the design of new, upgraded and expanded substations from conception through final details

· Manage material procurement

· Manage substation construction

· Manage commissioning and startup

· Manage development and delivery of physical, electrical, civil, and communication design studies, including calculations, drawings, exhibits and specifications.

· Coordinate the completion of specialized tasks with other SMEs such as Distribution Studies, Transmission Studies, Grounding Studies, Protection (relay coordination and settings), Civil Engineering, Communication (SCADA Integration), Transmission & Distribution Engineering, Environmental Planning, Surveying, Lands/Right-of-Way, and Project Management/Controls.

Requirements:

· BS or MS in Electrical Engineering

· 10+ years' experience in project and design engineering

· Professional Engineering (P.E.) license preferred

· Experience in utility or merchant power industry a plus

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Strong organization and planning skills

· Ability to work in a team environment

· Commitment to quality and accuracy

· Willingness to meet fast-paced project schedules

· Advanced knowledge of power engineering principals

· Expert knowledge of applicable codes, standards and design tools

· Good project management execution skills

· Able to oversee and direct design personnel on a project team
