Job Description:
Currently, we are looking for a Purchasing Specialist at our vertically integrated printing and converting company. This position is responsible for purchasing and negotiating for material, equipment and supplies from vendors. It evaluates vendor quotes and services to determine most desirable suppliers, and provides general office support and codes A/P records and purchase orders for payment. This job is located in Guilford, CT.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (but not limited to)
· Identifies vendors based on cost and service; places orders and issues purchase orders.
· Follow up with vendors and expedites to insure timely delivery.
· Provides material cost information to management as requested.
· Find opportunities for volume discounts.
· Consolidates purchases.
· Reduces spot buys by matching purchases with production requirements.
· Looks for JIT delivery opportunities.
· Continually seeks cost saving purchasing opportunities
. Maintains master file of stock items and historical reference of supplies, equipment and services
Recommends bills for payment

QUALIFICATIONS
BA or BS
Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
Experience in purchasing
Ability to interpret and implement customer
specifications/requirements
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Computer literate (email, spreadsheets, word processing, etc.)
Good verbal and written communication skills
