Our Material Handler the purpose/objective of this position is to utilize inventory parts process transferring production material and parts to and from warehouse control and production areas of need while operating Forklift Mobile Equipment.

What you will do:
  • Perform and abide by safety policies and procedures while performing related assignments.
  • Review inventory documentation and information related to assignments to assure product is delivered to and from inventory control accurately and within guidelines process.
  • Perform assignment of work to contribute to material, parts and product that are being produced according to MAC Trailer's quality and quantity standards while supporting a safe environment
  • Transport material while recording all transactions through inventory control processes.
  • Operate transport device (Forklift Mobile Equipment) safely including packaging equipment to facilitate transfer of material.
  • Communicates with inventory management and production management regarding material and parts needs for production and production return of material or parts to inventory.
  • Delivers material and parts to production areas and assures material is delivered and placed in appropriate assigned areas or storage Locations
  • Removes/Loads material (Primarily Aluminum Extrusions) to/from storage racks, delivery Tractor Trailers, Storage areas by Operating Forklift Mobile Equipment.
  • Perform, understand, comprehend, and communicate basic math functions primarily related to measurement, piece count, and inventory control.
  • Communicate issues of concern to inventory and production management and any other pertinent information which effect the productive completion of quality product, schedule of product and safety.
  • Performs Safety and Maintenance check of Forklift equipment before start, during operation, and end of use.
  • Clean keep organized the area in which you work during and at the end of the shift.
  • Organize and restock needed parts and materials.
  • Assist other employees, as needed and instructed.
  • Demonstrate the ability to read, understand, comprehend , job specifications and/or detailed drawings
  • Ability to work outside in all seasons of weather.
  • Perform all related duties as assigned by Supervisor(s)

Physical Demands
  • Near Vision- the ability to see details at close range while reviewing inventory information.
  • Finger Dexterity- the ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, control mechanisms of Forklift equipment.
  • Manual Dexterity- the ability to grasp, manipulate, controls of Forklift Equipment.
  • Depth Perception - The ability to see and comprehend depth of material, depth of obstructions, distance of pedestrians or other persons from operation areas.
  • Demonstrate the ability to successfully maneuver, lift, and climb, in similar or same work environment as required for the position or job duty being considered for.
  • Must be able to push, pull, and lift various materials. Aluminum, steel and parts
  • Must be able to sit long periods of time in small area of operation while operating equipment.
  • Must be able to maneuver self in order to view safe operation of load and obstructions of material and/or pedestrians.
  • Must be able to step up and out down of Forklift operational control area.
  • Must be able to work in manufacturing environment with loud noises.
Position Tiers:
  • Tier 1: Employees in this tier are new to the position. Employee is under direct supervision as they learn the skills and duties of the position.
  • Tier 2: Employees in this position have developed the skills required to perform the job. There is supervisor involvement checking completed work for quality.
  • Tier 3: Employees in this position have mastered the skills required to perform the job. The individual does not need direct supervision and is responsible for training new employees in the department.
