POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Supported Employment, the Employment Manager is responsible for coordinating the efforts of the Job Coaches and Job Developers to find and maintain competitive, supported employment opportunities for the individuals served by CSAAC. The Employment Manager is also responsible for the management, development and performance of the Job Coaches.

QUALIFICATIONS Education:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a human services or related field (Social Work, Psychology, etc.)

Experience:

Minimum of three (3) years experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, preferably in a vocational setting.

Skills:

Strong programmatic skills in the area of supported employment required. Must possess excellent planning and problem-solving skills, with the ability to devise creative solutions to organizational issues. Strong collaboration skills needed, with the ability to marshal and coordinate internal (staff, other service departments), and external resources (employers, community groups and leaders, etc.), to meet program objectives. Computer literacy required, with a proficiency in standard business software applications (i.e., word processing, e-mail and spreadsheets).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Program Development

:

Develops appropriate, enriched vocational programs for individuals served by CSAAC. Works with the Job Developer to match each individual with the jobs found, commensurate with their abilities and interest.

Sources alternative vocational opportunities when full competitive employment is not attained (e.g., volunteer opportunities, training opportunities or other relevant, enriched and purposeful vocational experiences).

Develops fully productive vocational schedules for the individual, outlining specific and meaningful activities that extend beyond the search for employment. Trains Job Coaches on the individuals’ vocational schedules; develops observation practices and documentation systems to ensure vocational schedules and related activities are being followed on a daily or weekly basis.

Develops and maintains good relationships with the employers. Contacts the employer on a regular basis to determine if there are problems; visits the job site at least every two weeks or immediately if a problem is identified. Ensure the employer is pleased with the individual’s work and can continue employment.

: Sets up new worksites in preparation for individuals beginning their employment. Gains an understanding of the job duties, worksite culture and any additional expectations of the client. Visits the job site daily during the first week of employment to provide support to the individual and his/her job coach in learning the job and meeting its requirements.

Keeps the Residential Coordinator(s) (RC’s) apprised of any behavioral incidents, job threatening events or any other events or behaviors that affect the individual’s job or vocational programming. Keeps the RC’s informed of the individual’s weekly schedule.

Job Coach Training

:

Trains Job Coaches on each individual’s BMP, ensuring that Job Coaches implement the BMP with at least 90% accuracy. Ensures the Job Coaches have all necessary supplies, forms, reinforcers and money to implement BMPs.

Trains Job Coaches on tasks individuals will be performing at the work site, volunteer site or training site. Ensures Job Coach supports the individual in getting tasks completed and encourages and promotes involvement of the individual in completion of the task to the maximum degree possible. Trains Job Coaches to identify problems at the worksite; works with Job Coaches to assist in resolution.

Staff Management and Development:

Assists with the selection, retention and development of subordinate staff in the Employment Supports department (i.e. Job Coaches). Assists Director with the Identification of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform these roles; participates in the recruitment process for new and replacement hires.

Provides specific skills training to subordinate staff to ensure their ability to effectively support individuals at their work, volunteer or training site.

Ensures staff members complete required training within timeframes prescribed by CSAAC.

Conducts annual performance evaluations, make salary recommendations as to the Director appropriate.

Confers with the Director and Human Resources to effect any disciplinary measures as required.

Adheres to mandatory use of CareMatic system to access, send email and access and report health information, data and incidents for individuals supported in CSAAC program. Adheres to mandatory use of 2interactHRM software for Human Resource and Accounting related duties.

REQUIRED

TRAINING/PROFESSIONAL

CERTIFICATIONS

Completion and demonstration of techniques taught in the Behavioral Principles and Strategies Training (BPST).

Successfully complete annual recertification of the BPST.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Employee must be able to effectively complete a non-adverse physical intervention with autistic individuals of varying heights, weights and levels of physical strength according to the guidelines presented in Behavioral Principles and Strategies training.
