The main responsibilities of a Construction Estimator are to compile estimates for the cost of work by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents. Included in this will be the estimation of labor, material, equipment, and time requirements in order to compute the overall cost and duration of the project efficiently and accurately.

Project Types: State, Educational, Commercial, Multifamily, Residential, & Repair Work

Note: Position is located in Star, NC

Duties

- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects

- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine material, labor, and equipment requirements

- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating purposes

- Utilize construction estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to create comprehensive estimates

- Review and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers

- Monitor project costs throughout the construction process and implement cost control measures as needed

- Provide support to project teams by assisting with budgeting, scheduling, and procurement activities

- Stay updated on industry trends and changes in construction costs to ensure accurate estimates

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field, along with 5 years of experience with 2+ years in an estimators capacity

- Proven experience as a Construction Estimator or similar role

- Strong knowledge of construction estimating principles, techniques, and practices

- Proficient in using construction estimating softwares

- Familiarity with project management principles and practices

- Proficient mathematical and analytical skills

- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contracts

- Strong negotiation and communication skills
