Continuous Improvement Supervisor

Summary This is a projects-centered role focused on process improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Competencies required include good critical and out-of-the-box thinking abilities, a hands-on approach to problems and processes, good attention to detail, quick learning, and the employment of excellent time-management practices. This role requires leading lean/six-sigma, process improvement and 6S projects. This includes managing the project's budget, developing and driving action-items necessary to achieve the project's goals, coordinating necessary resources (both internal and external), and taking lead on all other aspects of the project. Lastly, the candidate must be able to effectively report on their project(s) status and financial impact to management. Essential Functions The Continuous Improvement Supervisor must coordinate, and lead projects composed of cross-functional teams of engineers, area managers/supervisors, programmers, and shop-floor personnel in both tactical and strategic continuous improvement projects. Types of projects and skills that will need deployment include:•Lean/Kaizen and 6S projects•Implementation of key concepts, such as Kanban, SMED, standard work, scheduled workflow, etc.•Six Sigma•Root Cause Analysis•Productivity improvement projects and cost-down initiatives•Process and Value Stream Mapping Additional Responsibilities Be able to fill supervisor vacancies when needed.Constant awareness and training in safety.Enforcing Plant rules and safety rules in "in general Plant and Safety Rule" handbooks.Must be familiar with IAM Local 2310 contract.Work with Engineering and Quality Assurance to update procedures and improve processes.Create and make high-level presentations of both information and data to persons both internal and external of the organization.Must be familiar with Oracle shop floor front end and applications. Duties as assigned by the Manufacturing Manager. The candidate must be computer literate and have extensive project management and team management experience. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1.5X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter .
