The Sr. Design Engineer is responsible for the executionof all facets of design engineering projects in support of Magnetic Seal, LLC. throughoutthe product lifecycle.From conceptdesign through production, the Sr. Design Engineer works collaboratively withall business functions to ensure a successful product launch to meet ourcustomer's demanding sealing needs.

This key project owner will manage all daily tasks withinthe engineering services through the assigned Engineering, ManufacturingEngineering and technical support resources which range from customer productinquiries which initiate the product development process to any existing legacyapplication issues from our installed customer base.This role will also personally own and manageassigned key initiatives within the business operations by supporting variousfunctions with product material inquires, manufacturing challenges, qualityprocesses, and evolving supply chain developments.

Responsibilities:
•Responsible forthe design, development, implementation and analysis of mechanical rotary faceseals primarily used in the secondary power systems for the aerospace industryand other adjacent markets.
•Responsible for3D modeling, drawing creation, reverse engineering, and component selection.
•Providesengineering, manufacturing and project management support.
•Evaluates ourproducts, parts, procedures and processes for affectivity and reliability.
•Develops andexecutes test plans as required, including test rig design, operation and datacollection as necessary.
•Preparesdata-driven engineering reports for internal and external customers as needed.
•Researches andanalyzes customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data toevaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs orapplications.
•Interacts withother departments, customers and suppliers as required.
•Candidatefollows in house engineering processes and will assist in the creation andimprovement of companywide process documentation.
•Recommend &implement process and product changes in support of internal & externalcustomer(s)
•Demonstratehonesty, integrity, and conduct that conforms to MagSeal's CLEAR Values andculture by demonstrating the "Expectations of a MagSeal Team Member."
•Possess highself-motivation, persistent drive and takes the initiative to realize goals andobjectives.
•Excellent verbaland written communication to build loyal relationships both internally andexternally with professional presentation & training competency.
•Computer skillsto include all Microsoft office applications, engineering CAD (Solid-works),FEA/FEMA, project/time management software such as Outlook for effective timemanagement.
•Position willoffer unique and complex engineering challenges that require persistence,original thinking and a positive attitude. •Performs otherduties as assigned.

Qualifications:
•Bachelor'sdegree in mechanical engineering or equivalent with 5-8 years' relevantexperience in a related field which is directly applicable to the field ofmechanical seals is required.
•Must be a UScitizen or a US permanent resident (i.e., a "Green Card" holder)
•Experienced in3D modeling and conducting FEA using SolidWorks or an equivalent system, ishighly desirable.
•Experience inthe testing of mechanical rotary face seals or other mechanical equipment ishighly desirable.
•Familiar with avariety of sealing concepts, practices, and procedures.
•Generalknowledge or working experience of gearboxes, transmissions and accessories isdesirable.
•Knowledge ofAS9100 and ITAR regulations preferred.
•Must be local toRhode Island.
