ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Assist in responding to and attending to guest and associate repair requests. Assist in communicating with guests/customers to resolve maintenance issues. Assist with the performance of preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication. Assist with the visual inspection of tools, equipment, or machines. Assist with carrying equipment (e.g., tools, radio). Assist in Identifying, locating, and operating all shut-off valves for equipment. Assist with maintaining maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed. Assist with assuring each day's activities and problems that occur are communicated to the other shifts using approved communication programs and standards. Learn to read standard blue prints and electrical schematics concerning plumbing and HVAC. Train to obtain proficiency in at least three of the following categories, learn basic skills in the remaining categories: air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, energy conservation, and/or general building management.Train to have knowledge and skill in the safe use of hand and power tools and other materials required to perform repair and maintenance tasks. Learn to safely perform highly complex repairs of the physical property, electrical, plumbing and mechanical equipment, air conditioners, refrigeration and pool heaters - ensuring all methods, materials and practices meet company standards and Local and National codes .Learn to troubleshoot and perform repairs on all types of equipment (e.g., pump and motor replacement), plumbing (e.g., plunge toilets and unclog drains), electrical equipment including lamps, air conditioners, HVAC equipment, cosmetic items, extension cords, vacuum cleaners, internet devices, replace electrical switches and outlets, and program TV's.Learn to use the Lockout/Tagout system before performing any maintenance work. Perform advanced troubleshooting of hotel Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems. Learn to perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities, including readings and rounds.

Must be a member in good standing with IUOE Local #399.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Must have the ability to communicate in English.Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.Learn to communicate well with guests.Must be willing to "pitch-in" and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player.Climbing, reading, standing, walking and routinely lifting 25 lbs to 50 lbs.Must be able to receive instructions and communicate progress of work assignments.
