Essential Functions The Associate Director of Advancement is responsible for a variety of fundraising capabilities as listed below. In addition, this position is responsible for guiding the day-to-day operations of Wayland’s Advancement Office which includes oversight of calendaring all activity, managing weekly staff meetings, managing inventory of supplies and associated budget, and when the Director of Advancement is not available, serve as the point person in the office. Essential fundraising duties and responsibilities include the following: Build more valuable relationships with a portfolio of 100 prospects who have the capacity to contribute at the 1855 Society level and will be expected to meet established visit and solicitation metrics. Some travel in Wisconsin will be required. Create, solicit, and steward all the components of a Reunion Giving program as it relates to fundraising. Work closely with the Director of Alumni Engagement and Academy Fund on the oversight of content and message, development, production and distribution of all marketing materials necessary to achieve desired gift yields, execution of direct mail campaigns, phonathon, mail and face-to face solicitations. With the Director of Major Gifts build and implement all of the components of a current parent cultivation and solicitation program, including writing profiles on our “parents of note” each year and hosting international parent video conversations. With the Director of Alumni Engagement and Academy Fund and the Director of Marketing and Communications, establish an annual Day of Giving. With the Director of Donor Relations help coordinate the annual stewardship reports for endowed funds, including the student thank you notes process. Serve as the staff organizer for the Annual Big Red Golf Classic

. Plan, implement, and monitor the matching gifts program which capitalizes on the potential to maximize the benefits of our donors working at matching gift companies. Expand the student phonathons

. With the Director of Advancement, provide regular reporting and analysis of annual giving results. Use data to continuously adjust and make recommendations to improve annual giving programs. Serve as a strong team member when asked for assistance with advancement and school events. SUPERVISORY:

Oversee the Advancement Office staff. Support volunteers who may be working on Reunion Giving or events, including student volunteers. QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Must have a bachelor’s degree with at least five years of successful experience in solicitation or sales. A successful track record in writing and producing communications is required. Excellent organizational, written, verbal and interpersonal skills are required, along with attention to detail and a goal-oriented work ethic. COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Ability to present information, analysis, ideas, and positions in writing or in oral presentations in a clear and convincing manner to effectively reach intended audience. INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Ability to create strong relationships with constituents and colleagues to develop trust and credibility. Ability to work through interpersonal conflicts to ensure problems are addressed and relationships are strengthened. Strict respect for confidentiality of information. AGILITY:

Readily respond to pressing and changing demands of constituents and within the organization. INITIATIVE: Seek opportunities to improve, streamline, and reinvent work processes as a means to improve Wayland’s performance and effectiveness. Required or Preferred Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree required. Five or more years of proven fundraising or sales experience required. Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills required. Working knowledge of Raiser’s Edge 7 and/or NXT, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint highly preferred. Must be a self-starter who can work independently, solve problems, handle confidential information, and navigate sensitive situations. Ability to work collaboratively in a team situation required.
