Job Description

SCOPE OF POSITION
Responsible for the delivery of safe and effective care in the surgical services department. Follows specific procedures to perform cleaning of the surgery suite and prepares rooms for new patients and performs terminal cleaning of the OR, using aseptic technique. Uses industrial cleaning agents and equipment following appropriate safety procedures. Duties may include clean and re-make stretchers/beds; turnover all OR room between cases; stocking of supplies; deliver specimens/blood to the lab; transport patients as directed. Assists with patient positioning and extremity holding and assists surgical team members. Maintains an awareness of the cost of supplies and equipment and manages usage to ensure cost-effectiveness. Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Operating Room experience or comparable successful experience in a related field is required for Level III. The RT Level III may be attained after competency of skills and knowledge for Level II have been validated under direct supervision by the assigned preceptor, Education Coordinator, or direct supervisor. Committed to continuing education to upgrade skills in a constantly changing profession. AHA BLS certification required.
