Maintenance Custodian

Job OverviewSummary/Objective The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and pleasant environment for the dealership employees and customers in accordance with company policies.Essential FunctionsCleans work areas, empties trash, and collects scrap and used materials to process in accordance with company policy and local, state, and federal regulationsPerforms routine building maintenance in such a manner as to minimize interruption of customers or employeesWashes windows, glass doors and glass panels throughout service, sales, and customer areas. Arranges for contract window cleaning per direction and supervise the work of the contract window cleaning.Sweeps, vacuums, and mops floor on schedule: arranged for buffing or waxing and carpet cleaning per scheduled floor maintenance programCleans all signs, posters, service signs, mirrors, fans, and vending machinesMaintains hot beverage areas by cleaning counter surfaces and restocking coffee and related suppliesCleans bathrooms and restocks paper supplies as neededNotifies supervisor of required materials and supplies to perform dutiesCleans driveway and sidewalks, removing snow and debris as necessaryEmpties and cleans lunchroom refrigerator once a weekWashes shop truck, interior and exteriorCleans forklift and power equipmentEmpties and cleans all trash receptacles, interior and exteriorRemoves all debris from dealershipMaintains yard equipment and cleaning suppliesCleans oil storage tanks according to procedureDrains and disposes of used oil filters properlyRemoves and disposes of scrap materials as directedAssists Technicians with oil and water spills and with emptying drain tubsMaintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer and in accordance with company policiesComplies with all laws and regulations pertaining to working with hazardous materials.
