The Gensler Cities Climate Challenge (GC3) announced in September of 2019 is driving significant effort within our teams and in our partnerships with clients and industry toward aggressive reductions in all operating and embodied carbon associated with the built environment.

We are looking for equally committed members to join our team of sustainable design leaders.    Your Role Gensler is seeking an experienced Sustainability Specialist to lead or participate in consulting engagements that provide sustainability strategies for a wide range of world-class clients and projects ranging from commercial interiors to ground-up buildings and real estate portfolios.  Additionally, you may manage the certification process and provide design guidance on projects pursuing LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwel, and/or Net Zero Building Certification. As a Sustainability Specialist at Gensler, you will join a highly creative, collaborative team dedicated to innovative problem-solving and design excellence.

You will work with the LATAM Sustainability team in providing a full spectrum of sustainability advisory and support to clients and project teams, from pre-design through post-occupancy. What You Will DoExecutes operational management of the revenue-generating portfolio of work.

 Works closely with project leadership, responsible for supporting the most complex sustainability projects by providing turn-key sustainability support to clients and project teams from marketing through post-occupancy.Provides advanced technical leadership and mentorship across all areas of integrated sustainable design delivery.Facilitates sustainable design charettes, manages sustainable programs and related action items, provides expert technical assistance on various strategies, and supports staff sustainability-related professional development.Establish and manage project implementation tools and systems.Provide and coordinate technical leadership for strategy, analytics, or certification-based projects.Works independently on a wide range of large, complex and/ or highly specialized projects.Works on critical projects with region and potentially firmwide impact.Your QualificationsBachelor or master’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Engineering, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field10+ years of experience in the sustainability fieldAccreditations in recognized sustainability certification programs with a specialization like LEED, EDGE, TRUE ZERO WASTE, WELL, FITWEL, and LBC among others100% bilingual English/Spanish, well written with excellent verbal communication skills.Ability to act independently and with minimal oversight from managerial staff in the form of broad objectives.Regularly exercises creativity and makes independent decisions.Demonstrates and shares expertise in advanced techniques, concepts, and methods.Possesses advanced analytical skills in addition to unique knowledge and expertise.Creates networks and speaks externally in areas of expertise.Leads interaction with clients and participates in project pursuits Manages proficiently simulation software such as Design Builder, Climate Studio, IESVE, and Ladybug tools.Life at GenslerAt Gensler, we are as committed to enjoying life as we are to delivering best-in-class design.
