Job Functions (Essential)
  1. Process purchasing award summaries and purchasing documents for suppliers directly related to production material
  2. Assist in the development of International Commodity Team strategies that align with Global/Regional Purchasing and Logistics Objectives
  3. Manage cross-functional projects on time and within budget
  4. Develop sourcing lists and monitor supplier performance
  5. Aggressively resolve all pricing, invoicing and contract related issues with the suppliers
  6. Negotiate pricing, terms and annual contracts with suppliers
  7. Evaluate and select new suppliers based on common practices and based on negotiated agreements focused on price, quality, delivery and other required services
  8. Maintain open communication between internal departments, management, and suppliers
  9. Support cost savings initiatives
  10. Support the implementation of a standardized process approach utilizing digitalization, common forms, measurements, and structure
  11. Forecast annual material, purchasing volumes, annual savings, tooling costs and repair budget
  12. Perform special projects as required
  13. Maintain good housekeeping practices
  14. Adhere to company/professional ethics governing the handling of confidential information and the observation of confidentiality
  15. Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls Royce Code of Conduct.

Daily work is performed in an office, general manufacturing environments. This position has a Monday through Friday work schedule, as business requires.
While performing tasks of this position, the employee is regularly required to operate a computer inside the facility. Finally, this position within the work environment, employees are occasionally requested to endure noise while performing daily tasks.

The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, crouch, or reach within the facility. Also, the employee will occasionally be required to grasp items to carry that are 10-25 pounds once per day. Finally, the employee is occasionally required to push or pull items that 10-25 pounds once per day.
Specific vision requirements for this position include close vision, distance vision, see color.

Must be willing to travel as required.

Qualifications:

Required:
  1. Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Materials Management, or Business Finance, and 5 years of procurement, materials management, supplier cost analysis, or supply chain management experience; or 9 years of experience in procurement, materials management, supplier cost analysis, or supply chain management
  2. Minimum 2 years' experience handling confidential sensitive matters with discretion
  3. Excellent negotiation skills
  4. Excellent working knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures
  5. Excellent financial/cost analysis and problem-solving skills when issues are very complex
  6. Strong knowledge of production planning, supply chain and/or materials management processes
  7. Strong global knowledge of suppliers and international/domestic activities
  8. Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills
  9. Strong oral, written and presentation communication skills, and the ability to understand the needs of the internal customer
  10. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others
  11. Strong ability to interpret blueprints and engineering documents
  12. Self-starter with the ability to work independently with little direction
  13. Ability to travel - domestic and international and work flexible hours
  14. Strong ability to learn commodity processes at supplier locations
  15. Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite
Preferred:
  1. Specific knowledge of Off-Highway Diesel Engine commodities, materials and products
  2. SAP experience
  3. Working knowledge of Foundry practice and processes. Experience in purchasing of Casting products for heavy industrial applications.
  4. Ability to review 2D drawings / 3D models with understanding of technical requirements and Casting / Machining processes which meet the required specifications.
