Major Position Responsibilities

This position will be located at the new GD-OTS facility located in Mesquite, TX.

SUMMARY: Welds all types of commonly used metals and alloys of various sizes, shapes and thicknesses, including dissimilar metals such as copper to steel. Operates various hand -welding, flame-cutting, hand-soldering or
brazing equipment to weld or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations or seams of fabricated metal products. May set up, operate and/or tend to robots that weld, braze, solder or heat treat metal products,
components or assemblies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assists with the installation, operation, testing, and adjustment of various types of conventional or
  automatic machines used to produce precision parts and instruments.
• Fabricates and modifies parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines,
  applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining
  procedures.
• Machines parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or
  grinders.
• Measures, examines, and tests completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance
  to specifications

For Mesquite Operations: This will be for a First Shift Position.

Basic Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

• Vocational/Technical Training Degree
• Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education and/or Experience
• Preferred: Associate's Degree with Technical Training
• 3-5 years prior experience in a similar position. Industrial Maintenance Manufacturing environment preferred.

Preferred

• Experience with start ups, such as project planning, and establishing business processes, management systems, and work instructions is desired. This is an exciting opportunity to create the business processes, systems, and culture to stand up a high performing manufacturing operation.

Physical Demands

• Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
• May need to stand for long periods of time.
• Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
• Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
• May be requested to work a different shift.
• This position is Safety Sensitive.
• Must be willing to work outside of normal business hours as required.
