Department Overview

Electric Asset Management is responsible for the engineering and planning of the electric system, asset strategy, and risk management across transmission, distribution, and substation asset families. Within our Asset Management organization, the distribution inspections strategy team leads the development of strategy and guidance for distribution asset inspection and patrol programs for 2.3 million electric distribution structures, ensuring these programs effectively identify critical equipment conditions and operate in line with regulatory and internal requirements.

Position Summary

Leads the development of strategy and guidance for distribution asset inspection and patrol programs for 2.3M Electric Distribution structures. Ensures that the program operates effectively in compliance with regulatory and internal requirements. Responsibilities typically include some or most of the following to ensure the attainment of program metrics/objectives.

  • Collaborating with Regulatory and Compliance staff to ensure regulatory compliance and support regulatory activities by providing information for filings, data requests, and meetings with regulators.
  • Developing and/or implementing policies and procedures.
  • Developing annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Developing, measuring, and reporting on the success of the program.
  • Managing major cross-functional projects and initiatives.
  • Identifying and maintaining strong working relationships with all strategic programs and partners.
  • Identifying stakeholders and effectively communicating within and outside of PG&E.
  • Executing inspection programs, including contracting and overseeing vendors.

This position is hybrid, allowing you to work from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.

PG&E is providing the salary range, which the company believes it might pay for this position in good faith at the time of the job posting. The actual salary will be based on various factors, including specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. The estimation is that the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the salary range, but the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis depending on these factors.

Bay Area Minimum: $140,000

Bay Area Maximum: $238,000

California Minimum: $133,000

California Maximum: $226,000

Job Responsibilities
  • Collaborating with Standards, Asset Family Owners, Asset Knowledge Management, Quality Control, Tag Commitment Delivery, and Risk teams to define preventive maintenance strategy.
  • Leading the development of guidance documents and procedures related to inspections.
  • Supporting the development of the annual Wildfire Mitigation Plan and managing/executing commitments.
  • Supporting General Rate Case, Wildfire Mitigation Plan, and other regulatory activities.
  • Facilitating changes to tools and systems, including Foundry, mobile applications, and SAP.
  • Responding to internal and external data requests.
  • Leading corrective actions from audits and root cause evaluations.
  • Managing the relationship with and providing direction to System Inspections.
  • Supporting the preparation and review of metrics and reports.
  • Identifying new partners, technologies, and delivery channels.
  • Developing the annual program expense budget and forecasts.
  • Developing succinct findings from complex data analyses, presenting findings, and making recommendations to management.
  • Working with all levels of management and senior leadership across functions to influence decisions.
  • Mentoring and providing guidance to less experienced colleagues.
Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in developing strategies with cross-functional teams.
  • Ten (10) years of related experience or equivalent.
  • Experience working with large datasets (preferably in Foundry, SAP, or GIS).

Desired:

  • Masters Degree in a job-related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in asset management and maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of Electric Distribution inspections or construction.
  • Familiarity with CPUC General Orders 95 and 165.
