Job Summary and Qualifications

Provides library desk coverage, assists students with accessing library resources, monitors the library and testing for students with 504 accommodations.

Position Responsibilities

  1. Assists students in accessing library materials and refers students with information needs to the librarians.
  2. Proctors tests for students requiring 504 accommodations in the Testing Center.
  3. Administers of other exams given through the Testing Center including,
    1. Make up exams
    2. TEAS tests
  4. Administers and proctors tests administered by the Testing Center. Observes college, state/federal, and test agency policies and procedures for security/confidentiality of testing records; includes adherence to FERPA as it relates to testing services.
  5. Oversees test registration, receive fees, review, and enforce rules and regulations of the test center and the college
  6. Maintains security of tests and materials by routinely inventorying materials, reviewing procedures for security, ensuring secure storage, and returning all test materials appropriate faculty/staff.
  7. Understands correct testing procedures and has the ability to discover student dishonesty or unethical behavior
  8. Provides excellent customer service to students and refers students who need advising, counseling, or other support services to appropriate offices.
  9. Maintains confidential records and information
  10. Supports implementation of centralized library initiatives at the campus level.
  11. Other duties as assigned.

What qualifications you will need:

Education: Minimum high school diploma or GED; some college preferred.

Experience/Skills:

  • Knowledge of correct testing procedures and ability to discover student dishonesty or unethical behavior. Planning and scheduling techniques.
  • Computer-based testing and machine scoring.
  • Regulations, policies, and standards for the administration and scoring of exams
  • Test registration, fee collection, rules enforcement.
    • College rules, regulations, and resources
    • 504 testing requirements, processes, and procedures.
    • Notification policies, processes, and procedures.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit at a desk for up to eight (8) hours at a time, and the ability to reach overhead, bend, and stretch. Must be able to lift 35 pounds.

Degree of Supervision: Minimal.
