The Indiana Chapter is seeking a Director of Stewardship to guide a diverse team of dedicated professionals to develop and implement land management strategies and conservation objectives for Indiana. The Director serves as a principle contact to government agencies, other conservation organizations, foundations, and the academic community. They lead by example, demonstrating cutting edge management strategies, restoration, and invasive species management techniques on Conservancy owned lands and are expected to become a regional conservation leader for the Conservancy and our partners.

The ideal candidate will have a BA/BS degree and 5-7 years of related work experience (or equivalent combination); and a background in leading and motivating teams; partnership development; managing complex projects, negotiating; and fundraising. They will have knowledge of current trends in conservation practice, ecological restoration, invasive species control, and ecological dynamics in the Midwest; and experience with GIS and prescribed fire practices.

This is a hands-on field-oriented job with an expected 30% or more time spent in the field and overnight travel is regularly required. It is a full-time position based in Indianapolis, Indiana that includes a competitive benefits package and a compensation range that begins at $66,600 and is commensurate with experience.
