Responsible for making and serving nutritious meals for students in a safe and healthful manner.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:* Prepare and serve food according to menus and in correct portion sizes as mandated by yield guides.* Perform cleaning duties, including sweeping and mopping of floors, cleaning of equipment and work areas, dish washing and pot washing.* Comply with all State, Federal, local health department requirements for safe food handling* Assist Manager with incoming supplies, storing and rotating food by FIFO method* Follows assigned break schedule* Collect and strip trays for dish washing and participate in washing and cleaning of all areas in the kitchen* Store cutlery, dishes, trays, cups, pots, pans etc.* Participates in monthly safety training* Attend all mandatory in-service program and at home computer training, complete all training by assigned due dates.* Manages POS/cash handling if applicable for positionADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* Adhere to all Whitsons policies and procedures at all times* Support the goals, objective and mission statement set forth by Whitsons.* Comply with all requirements of the mandated food handling certification requirements* Performs all other duties as assigned.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:Education:* High school graduate or equivalent preferred* Must complete all Whitsons and other mandated training as assignedOther Qualifications, Experience and Competencies:* Ability to speak and read English in order to understand and perform job assignments.* 1 year professional food service experience preffered* Always present a positive and professional image.PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE JOB:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by any team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
