Trainer

Overview

Under the direction of the Manager of Value Driven Health Care, responsible for coordinating and conducting training activities targeted toward improving health care Quality, business Efficiency, and patient Access thereby positioning DuPage Medical Group as a leader in the health care landscape. The Trainer will develop training materials and conduct training related to the Epic system as well as other software and skills. The training is geared to physicians and other providers, both clinical and non-clinical management, clinical staff (such as nurses and medical assistants) and clerical staff in both the clinics and administrative departments. Training activities include new employee orientation training as well as ongoing training and training geared toward professional development needs. The Trainer will also lead new site implementations, including all necessary coordination with Clinical Operations, IT, Coding and other administrative departments, as well as conducting go-live training and on-site go-live support.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conducts training for new and existing physicians, managers and staff
Conducts training on various Epic modules (EpicCare Ambulatory EMR including documentation tools, Cadence Scheduling, Prelude Registration, Resolute Billing etc.) and other software training as needed. This includes current version training as well as upgrade training and testing as needed. Conducts project-specific training related to such projects as Meaningful Use, Patient Centered Medical Home, Quality Improvement efforts, etc. Also train on soft-skills such as Customer Service, Mentoring Employees, Dealing with Difficult Patients or Employees, etc. Must be proficient delivering training in various venues such as hands-on classroom training, webinars, system demonstrations and/or presentations to groups (such as site-visits and department meetings) as well as one-on-one training (typically with physicians).
Develops Training Material
Develops end-user training materials including classroom materials, project specific handbooks, quick references and other materials as needed. Develop content incorporating both operational and as well software workflows along with best practice guidelines. Develop e-learning modules using Captivate. Also develop training assessments and surveys to evaluate training effectiveness.
Coordinates New Site Implementations
New site implementation process includes scheduling & oversight of kick-off meeting, coordinating with IT to ensure hardware build-out and software build is completed and tested, also coordination with other departments as needed such as Coding & Compliance, Managed Care, Human Resources, etc. Also includes scheduling and conducting new site training for physicians, practice manager and staff and coordinating and providing on-site go-live support.
Collaborates with Project Managers and Quality Manager to develop project-specific training
Includes incorporating project specifications with operational workflows to develop and deliver training to meet project goals & objectives.
Other duties as assigned

Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) required Training facilitation skills: Foster adult learning to ensure job skills proficiency and understanding of workflows and best practices. Qualifications
Minimum Bachelor Degree in IT, Adult Education or a related field
Epic certification in any module a plus (especially EpicCare Ambulatory EMR)
Prefer a minimum of 5-7 years of experience training, preferably in a healthcare environment. Previous supervisory experience a plus.
Epic experience strongly preferred.
