Job Summary and Qualifications

The Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) works in the inpatient and/or outpatient setting providing a wide-range of treatment, care and evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiencies. You will utilize various types of oxygen and other therapeutic gas equipment such as masks, tents and incubators. The patient population may range from newborn to geriatric. You will educate patients of treatments, support groups and other available programs.

  • You will deliver and assess responses to ordered therapy per plan of care including routine and intensive therapy and diagnostic procedures.
  • You will measure ventilator volumes, pressures and blood gas analysis.
  • You will monitor, record, and communicate patient condition and general acceptance of treatment.
  • You will performs a variety of duties related to setting up, operating, cleaning, sterilizing, and storing respiratory therapy equipment.
What qualifications you will need:
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Associate Degree
  • RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT / RCP), or Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician (CRTT)

HCA Florida Highlands Hospital is a 126-bed acute hospital. We offer a full range of Emergency, Surgical and Inpatient and Outpatient services. Our Emergency Room is the areas only dedicated Senior ER. This features designated parking and hearing amplifiers. This also offers optical devices, specific discharge planning and personal scheduling assistance. All patient directives are clear, easing tension. Our Orthopedic Institute provides an upscale environment for joint replacements. Patients are at ease in our facility. The hospital specializes in minimally invasive procedures. These result in shorter hospital stays and a faster recovery.
