Responsibilities Assist Radiation Therapists when needed to plan and apply ionizing radiation to the patient in accordance with the prescription and instructions from the radiation oncologist or radiation physicist. Provide specific care to patients during treatment and educate patients regarding procedures as well as how to deal with radiation reactions. Observe radiation safety measures for patients, personnel and visitors. Provide Treatment Planning Activities Performs Collaborative Duties QualificationsJob Requirements: Current certification as a Certified Medical Dosimetrist with the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB). Current BLS certification. Must have an understanding of computers and applications and be able to maintain the computers and instrumentation of the department. Comprehension of standard radiation therapy techniques; principles of radiation physics; and therapy planning goals and documentation. Preferred Job Requirements: Experience with MOSAIQ (EMR), Pinnacle (treatment planning system) and ELEKTA Synergy or equivalent treatment delivery system is desirable.
