TI&I delivers operational excellence by effectively managing the technology and operations required to run the bank, enables the bank's transformation by focusing on clients, innovating for the future and simplifying operations and supporting the bank's growth objectives through flawless execution of strategic initiatives.US TI&I Governance & Oversight is a first line of defense team which supports the departments referenced above. The Risk Manager will work closely with US TI&I Management and 2nd and 3rd lines of defense (Risk, Compliance, and Internal Audit) to develop and implement well managed risk practices to ensure activities do not exceed the risk tolerance of the organization. This role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing an operational risk program within US TI&I.Job Responsibilities:Design, execute, and report on an operational risk based program for lines of businesses, specifically within the Internal Investigations, Business Continuity Management, and Operational Resiliency Lines of Business within US TI&ILead, coordinate, and liaise between US TI&I Lines of Business Managers and other lines of defenseCollaborate with business units in developing and monitoring corrective action plans when responding to Audit, Compliance, Self-Assessed, or regulatory examination findingsPerform validation on findings within the Internal Investigations, Business Continuity, and Operational Resiliency portfolioProvide risk guidance in developing, reviewing and maintaining operational risk and compliance policies and procedures as it relates to US TI&I Lines of BusinessAssess risk on behalf of the line of business through the Risk and Control Self-Assessment; Risk Identification; and Change Initiative Risk Assessment processes, as applicable;Manage day-to-day risk issues; design and implementation of new controls and special projectsUpdate and maintain a risk and control inventory remediating any gaps and inadequaciesMentor and coach US TI&I Governance & Oversight Team membersMaintain awareness of regulatory changes across the industry, analyzing how the changes will affect the line of business, and creating a strategy to implement such changes within US TI&IQualifications:BS or MS (Risk Management, Business, Finance or similar) or equivalent professional/military experience5-7 years of experience in audit/ enterprise/operational risk management/or management consulting , requiredExperience auditing Lines of Businesses within US TII within these fields highly encouragedStrong risk assessment framework knowledge and experience performing risk assessments covering key risks and controls a plusStrong project management skills, including the ability to adapt to change quickly, multi-task and demonstrate flexibility in prioritization based on requested tasksWorking knowledge of financial, operational, compliance and reputation risksData analysis and visualization skills using Excel or other analysis softwareStrong oral and written communication skills at all levels of an organizationForward thinker, strong drive, and ability to work independently in a team-oriented and fast-paced environmentComfortable performing ad-hoc statistical analysis using pivot tables, vlookup, complex formulas, and other advanced Excel functions to determine root causes and trends related to testing failuresStrong working knowledge of regulatory requirements to perform and ensure an appropriate level of testingCalifornia residents your privacy rights regarding your actual or prospective employmentWhat CIBC OffersAt CIBC, your goals are a priority.
