Job Summary:
This position is responsible for the HR processes and programs and the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including but not limited to recruitment and onboarding, employee engagement, compensation and benefits, leaves of absence, succession planning, governmental compliance and enforcing company policies and practices. Our Glenwillow facility employs approximately 150 employees. Looking for a strong focus on talent attraction, retention, engagement and development.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide supportive services to management and associates such as organization and associate development, compensation and benefits administration, personnel requirements, communications, compliance with governmental rules and regulations, training programs.
- Assist management in establishing and maintaining a harmonious employer/employee relationship.
- Interpret company policies and objectives, initiate policies and programs for associates in terms of procedures necessary for their effective implementation.
- Administer wage and salary programs and the benefit program including insurance, 401k, and related programs.
- Manages the talent acquisition process, which includes recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants for technical professional and managerial roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Advising, counseling, and supporting personnel in the interpretation of and adherence to human resources initiatives, policies, and procedures. This includes ensuring compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations
- Lead employee relations investigations and partner with legal counsel as needed. This includes providing recommendations for issue resolution and overseeing action plans where appropriate.
- Gathering pertinent information related to employee leaves, FMLA administration and disability leave to ensure that all parties are appropriately involved in the management of leaves and returns to work.
- Lead internal safety committee to provide support and enhancements for company's safety programs.
- Audit unemployment and Workers' Comp claims to ensure fair determinations. Responsible for appealing claims if necessary.
- Maintain required contacts to keep abreast of development in the personnel/employee relations field such as employment procedural changes and requirements, testing requirements, compensation practices, benefits, and state-of-the-art developments; analyze and evaluate their applicability to company operations.
- Maintain location personnel records, both digitized and manual.
- Provide payroll support to accounting department
- Minimum 5 years' experience in Human Resources generalist functions within a manufacturing facility.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or Education preferred.
- HR Certification (SHRM or PHR/SPHR) preferred
- Experience with Paylocity (HRIS) preferred
- Work with confidential data of major importance such as company plans and programs, employment, hourly and salaried information.
