## Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Labor and Delivery Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide compassionate care to expectant mothers and infants during the labor and delivery process in a hospital setting.
## Duties
- Monitor maternal and fetal well-being during labor
- Assist with pain management techniques
- Administer medications as prescribed
- Assist with labor inductions and augmentations
- Perform cervical exams and assess the progress of labor
- Educate patients on prenatal care, breastfeeding, and newborn care
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals for comprehensive patient care
Job Detail:
*** L&D/PP RN Days/Eves/Nights Rotate & EOW – 48hrs. *** 1. Unit Name: Labor & Delivery/Postpartum. 2. Brief Unit Description: 25-bed Labor & Delivery Unit encompasses: L&D, PP, NBN, 2 OR’s, 2 ANU rooms, RR. 3. Years of Experience Required: 3 years minimum. 4. Skill Sets Required: Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Circulate, & Newborn Care. 5. Clinician to Patient Ratio: L&D 1:2-3 Evals, 1:1 Active Labor, Magnesium gtt or EPIDURAL. PP 1:3-4. 6. Patient Population: All. 7. Bed Count: 5 LD Rooms, 12 PP, 2 OR’s @ RR, 2 ANU with 4 beds. 8. Census: Average daily census 15-25 mother, babies, and labor. 9. EMR (Charting System): EPIC. 10. Floating Required: No. 11. Rotating Shifts Required: Day Rotate position w/ 1 Night of Call is (7a-7p, 11a-11p & 7p-7a). Eves & Nights positions are straight shifts. 12. Certifications Required: Active Massachusetts RN License. BLS, NRP & EFM (every 2 years). 13. Additional Information: ACLS (preferred).
### Requirements:
- Minimum 3+ Years of *RN L/D,PP,NBN*
- Must have BLS (AHA), ACLS, NRP, STABLE, AWHONN
- Active MA State License required,
- Fully Covid Vaccination.
- Ability to triage patients effectively
- Experience working in a teaching hospital environment
### Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Previous experience in a medical office setting
- Acute care experience, particularly in geriatrics
- Skill in venipuncture for blood draws
