Pharmacy Technician 2 Georgia Regional Hospital at Savannah is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Pharmacy Technician 2. This position will work Monday Friday, 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. For this type of employment, state law requires a national and state background check as a condition of employment. Job Description This position provides clerical support for the hospital's Pharmacy Department and directly supports the provision of Pharmacy services. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Fills medication orders and performs order entry Restocking and inspecting medications Responsible for unit dose packaging Conducts inventory of drugs Processes drug purchase orders Ordering medications when necessary Prepares medications under the direction of the Pharmacist Preferred Qualifications In addition to the state qualifications, preference will be given to those candidates who possess some or all of the following skills/experience: At least three years of experience working in pharmacy. Hospital pharmacy experience is a plus but not required; retail pharmacy experience is accepted. High school diploma/GED and two (2) years of experience working in a pharmacy; or one (1) year of experience required at the lower-level Pharmacy Tech 1 (HCS030) or position equivalent.
