**Commodity Buyer Internship**

**Location:** Troy-Michigan, MI, United States Commodity Buyer Internship

* *Team player, initiative, perseverance, dealing with ambiguity, excellent communicato*

***Mission:***

*Support Commodity Purchasing with the following:*

*Data gathering/research*

*Data Analysis*

*Negotiations with suppliers*

*Collaboration with cross functional departments to drive completion of tasks*

*Utilize market testing, benchmarking, and VA/VE opportunities to induce savings*

***Activities:***

- ***Market test assigned commodities:***

* *Support Commodity Buyers to send out RFQs to market test components to identify cost savings opportunities*

- ***Develop benchmarking tool to enable read across on raw materials, labor, burden, packaging and scrap costs:***

* *Identify savings across components based on analysis of cost drivers across similar parts to negotiate for savings.*

- ***Lead Cost Savings Projects***

* *Support commodity buyers on VA/VE projects for savings*

***Criterias:***

*Able to work 1 year.*

*Able to work 40 hours a week.*

*Curretly in college working on degree.*
