Job Description: Estimator
Position Level: Entry
Position Reports To: Estimating Manager FSLA Status:
Salary: $ 50K

Position Summary: Prepare comprehensive estimates for the fabrication of new and existing products that best reflect production capabilities. Coordinate project proposal and purchase item lead times with the sales team and provide vendor quote information to the purchasing department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate ability to develop timely and accurate cost estimates for manufactured products in sheet metal, wire, wood, tubing, plastics, and graphics.
  • Establish a deep knowledge of how processes work and the materials to be used.
  • Capability to understand technical drawings and requirements.
  • Identify labor, material costs, and time requirements by researching trends in manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with purchasing department to research and qualify new suppliers, vendors, and material sources.
  • Create and submit estimate reports or bids to appropriate persons (project managers, sales team, executives).
  • Generate production routers and BOMs.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with customers and staff.
  • Perform any special assignment as directed by the Estimating Manager.
Position Qualifications:
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Exceptional knowledge of Office 365 and ERP software systems is preferred.
Experience:
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Special Skills:
  • Experience and understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Being thorough, accurate, and reliable.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude using whole numbers, decimals, and fractions.
  • Computer literate in spreadsheets and business systems.
  • Being bilingual (English and Spanish) is a plus.

  • Be able to stand for extended periods.
