We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly, and hard-working Bar Back to join our amazing SP2 Bar Team. This position will start as a Bar Back to learn our methods and grow into a Bartending position. Our ideal candidate will have experience in a lively upscale-casual atmosphere.

?Bar Back Responsibilities

* Assisting with opening/closing duties, service, restocking etc.

* Ensuring bar is well-stocked with ice, liquor, wine, bottled beer, and draft beer (kegs) for service

* Maintaining beer taps and appliances to ensure they are working properly

* Ensure overall cleanliness according to our deep-cleaning calendar (wiping down surfaces, sweeping/mopping, washing/polishing soiled glassware, scrubbing walk-ins, coolers and storage areas)

* Prep mise en place for service, basic knife skills are a necessity

* Learning about menu items and classic cocktail recipes

* Taking orders, assist in preparing drinks, bussing tables, and processing payments

* Guest interaction, answering product questions

* Par and inventory control

Bar Back Requirements

* Must be of age to serve alcohol

* Prior bar/restaurant experience, education, training, or certifications are a plus

* Passionate about learning (cuisine, beer, wine, and spirits)

* Basic math and computer skills

* Strong problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, ability to handle tense situations calmly and rationally

* Observant, thorough, responsible, and punctual

* Ability to meet physical and scheduling demands of the position, including, walking, standing, or lifting heavy items for extended periods

* Be able to work weekends, late nights, and holidays

Bartender Responsibilities

* Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails, syrups, and juices (craft experience is a largely helpful)

* Interact with customers, customizing the restaurant experience to their needs and wants

* Stay guest focused and nurture excellent guest relationships

* Prep mise en place for service, basic knife skills are a necessity

* Assess guest needs and preferences and be able to make recommendations

* Assist with planning and developing our bar program with the entire Bar Team

* Pars, product ordering, and inventory control

Bartender Requirements

* Proven working experience as a Bartender with at least 1 year experience in a high volume bar or restaurant

* Excellent knowledge of cuisine, beer, wine, and spirits

* Must have a firm understanding of flavor combinations, mixing craft, steps of service

* Strong problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, ability to handle tense situations calmly and rationally

* Computer literacy, Bar Smarts training and/or relevant training certificate

* Positive attitude and excellent communication skills

* Ability to keep the bar clean, stocked, and organized

* Ability to meet physical and scheduling demands of the position, including, walking, standing, or lifting heavy items for extended periods

* Be able to work weekends, late nights, and holidays
