Associate Director, Accounting

A growing healthcare company is seeking a driven Associate Director, Accounting who will ensure the accurate and timely consolidation and analysis of the Company’s financial results. The successful candidate combines accounting, analytical, and communication skills to effectively and efficiently contribute to the monthly close process, as well as the ability to understand and account for complex accounting transactions. Outputs include consolidated financial reports, schedules and reconciliations used internally by Executive Management, as well as reporting required externally to banks, shareholders and other parties. Responsible for consolidation, intercompany and review processes relating to monthly reporting of actual results to both internal and external parties in compliance with US GAAP, internal controls, and audit requirements. This person will set the standards of excellence and make significant improvements to processes, efficiencies, technology, and talent management. Responsibilities:

Drive various project initiatives from inception to conclusion including adoption of new accounting standards, financial system implementations/upgrades and various process improvement efforts to enhance our internal capabilities to scale

Manage and lead the preparation and review of monthly analytical schedules, account roll-forwards, lead schedules, account reconciliations and variance analysis to ensure accuracy of balances, compliance with US GAAP and consistency between business units.

Assist in the preparation, review, and analysis of the consolidated financial statements, including preparation and review of consolidation adjustments/journal entries.

Build, lead, manage and engage a team of professionals to meet department objectives assessing actual performance and providing feedback, direction and coaching

Promote and collaborate with other departments on Company strategic initiatives

Adheres to management reporting deadlines to ensure overall effectiveness

The ability to adhere to the company's Code of Conduct, follow the company's Compliance policies and procedures, and report any suspected violations of any federal or state laws to either their direct supervisor, Human Resources, or the Compliance Officer

Any and other responsibilities as assigned by the manager to support these and other responsibilities in the department.

Manage and build a team of 1–5.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education: bachelor’s degree

Minimum Years of Experience: 7-10 years’ experience, combination of public accounting and corporate experience preferred.

Any Licenses or Certificates Required: Certified Public Accountant

Management Experience: 3-7 years’ experience

Strong business acumen and critical analytic thinking to review, manage and provide recommendations on departmental work and initiatives

Strong project management skills including ability to manage details through to completion and ensure deadlines are met

Understanding of general accounting policies and procedures, and their appropriate application at a transaction level

Demonstrated ability to disaggregate, critically analyze and reconcile consolidated financial data in an accurate and timely manner.

Proven ability to oversee, handle and synthesize large volumes of data

Possess strong Excel skills

Superior communication skills both verbally and in writing

Excellent interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships, influence and collaborate with those at all levels within the organization, constituents and external vendors and partners

Ability to lead, develop, engage and motivate a team

Demonstrates the highest standards of ethical behavior and absolute discretion with sensitive information

Self starter, with the ability to take initiative to identify, priorities and implement actions required to achieve functional goals

Strong problem solving skills including ability to address any issue in collaboration with others, proactively identify and prevent potential issues and develop problem solving skills in others

Knowledge of general ledger systems and reporting packages

Ability to work well under pressure and effectively handle multiple concurrent, and often changing priorities and demands with ease.

Ability to collaborate with others and act in an objective manner to stay on track to achieve common goals
