The Family Place Utah is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization striving to achieve its mission of Strengthening Families and Protecting Children in Cache, Rich, and Franklin counties through therapy, education, and 24-hour Kid's Place care and shelter services.
The IT (Information Technology) Specialist is a full-time position that maintains responsibility for all technology needs at The Family Place Utah in all locations. These needs would include ensuring new user accounts and identities for NAS (Network Attached Storage), VPN (Virtual Private Network) LAN (Local Area Network) and Wi-fi (Wireless Network) connections. In addition, this position will be responsible for configuring and troubleshooting various network hardware systems, handling employee queries, and providing general support for agency IT needs.
The IT Specialist is expected to provide technological support at agency events including handling slideshows, sound, microphones, etc. The position is responsible for building security, VoIP phone system, computer updates and supervising other employees on the IT team. The IT Specialist is a direct report to the Operations Director.
Duties Synopsis:
The IT Specialist maintains an intermediate knowledge of computer software and hardware systems as well as a variety of internet applications and operating systems. This position works to improve systems and security of the agency in line with HIPAA mandates. Delegate tasks among IT staff members and send company-wide emails about system updates and other changes. Respond in a timely manner to agency requests and needs.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Degree or applicable certificate in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information System Security, Business Administration or related
2. Procure equipment in line with budgetary guidelines
3. Supervise employees on the IT team including annual evaluations
4. Excellent problem-solving skills, and ability to communicate and work well with others
5. Willing to take initiative while working with technology
6. Able to manage time wisely, adapt to conflicting priorities Excellent problem-solving skills Able to manage time wisely
7. Protects and maintains confidentiality of restricted or proprietary client and business information
8. Highly skilled in use of Microsoft Office suite and collaboration software
9. Able to obtain CPR and First Aid Certification (may be obtained after hire)
10. Able to pass an annual Background Criminal Investigation (BCI)
11. Maintains routers, switches, and other network infrastructure, and configurations
12. Provisions and de-provisions employee email and database accounts
13. Maintains backups of critical information
14. Knowledge of DVR Systems and troubleshooting
15. Maintains multiple Virtual Machines including backups, and updates
16. Able to upgrade and repair office computing hardware
17. High level of troubleshooting skills
