Job Summary:
The HSE Field Advisor will ensure all employees know their obligations and expectations regarding Health, Safety, and the Environment on site. In addition, HSE Field Advisor will oversee the Permit authority and ensure compliance with Work Permit, LOTO, and SIMOPS procedures.
It is essential to develop relationships to maintain a healthy and proactive safety culture on site and to have the knowledge to provide guidance and effectively advise relevant persons on day-to-day Health, Safety, and Environmental issues.

Primary Responsibilities:
Implement programs to achieve the requirements of Safety, Health, and Environmental Policies
Ensure KPIs regarding HSE Auditing and Inspections are met monthly, ensuring that Project HSE performance objectives are met or exceeded
Facilitate on-site Team Safety meetings to continually inform, coach, and develop the team to improve HSE performance and effectiveness
Lead the Lock-Out/Tag-out (LOTO) Officers, ensuring policies and procedures are well developed and enforced
Manage risk and promote risk awareness amongst employees. Rollout and promotion of training and awareness programs on site
Perform regular and systematic field reviews regarding Risk, Hazard identification, and control measures
Communicate industry-relevant safety incidents and ensure we address these hazards appropriately
Ensure Pre-commissioning, and Commissioning personnel have the relevant training and induction
Ensure Pre-commissioning and Commissioning personnel are available and are using appropriate PPE
Promote a culture that ensures a high standard of reporting for Health, Safety, and Environment, capturing incidents and Near Miss events
Participate in a walk-through of completed sub-systems and systems with the Contractor and Li-cycle Operations Groups to verify the completeness of work to allow work to progress from one completion stage to the next
Job Qualifications:
Relevant Technical Diploma or equivalent years of experience in the Safety Industry
Advisor must have at least ten years of specific experience supervising Site Safety on new or Brown Field Hydrometallurgical or Chemical Process facilities
Advanced First Aid and Emergency Response Certification
Advanced knowledge of OSHA requirements and Safe Work Practices
Current State or International Driver’s License
Proficient with Microsoft Office components, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Planning programs
The hourly rate for this contract opportunity is estimated between $42 and $52 per hour.
