IT Lead Software Engineer

Lead Software Engineer Location: Jersey City, NJ or Alpharetta, GA Compensation: $180,000 to $200,000 About the Role Join one of the nation’s leading privately held, AM Best “A”-rated property & casualty insurance carriers, known for its profitable underwriting, innovative mindset, and exceptional work culture. As a Lead Software Engineer, you will serve as both a hands-on technical expert and a team leader, guiding a full-stack engineering team through strategic application development and digital transformation initiatives. This is a key leadership position that blends architecture, implementation, and collaboration with business and technology leaders to create scalable, low-code/no-code application solutions using modern Microsoft technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with business unit heads to define and implement innovative software solutions Lead end-to-end architecture and development of custom applications using Microsoft Power Apps Design and deploy scalable, maintainable, and user-friendly low-code/no-code solutions Supervise and mentor a cross-functional team of software engineers Partner with enterprise architects and infrastructure engineers to deliver secure, integrated software platforms Manage and coordinate external development teams and vendors (onshore, nearshore, and offshore) Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field 8+ years of hands-on development experience with C# and the . NET ecosystem Strong leadership background with 8+ years leading engineering teams and managing digital transformation projects Expert-level skills with Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dataverse 5+ years of front-end development using frameworks such as Blazor, ASP.
