Credit Risk Analyst

Role Summary:
We are seeking a qualified accountant (or equivalent) with an understanding of counterparty risk to join our growing risk management team. This role is central to our team, being responsible for identifying, analysing, and mitigating risks related to our various counterparties. This includes our banking, trading, and investment partners, as well as any other financial institutions we interact with.
The role will involve continued interaction internally with our Trading and Risk teams, along with regular interactions with external counterparties. The role will require a motivated self-starter who is looking to utilise their accountancy knowledge within a Trading environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform due diligence on potential counterparties and make recommendations based on risk findings.
Perform regular counterparty risk assessments, evaluate risk exposure, and provide detailed analytical reports.
Develop and maintain risk models to monitor and limit counterparty exposures.
Maintain thorough knowledge of financial agreements and transactions with counterparties.
Collaborate with other risk teams including legal, finance, and business operations to ensure risks are understood and mitigated.
Stay abreast of regulatory changes and trends in counterparty risk management.
Partner with IT to deliver meaningful visualisation tools for counterparty risk management, and with Operations to ensure accuracy and completeness of counterparty inventory, positions, valuations.
Partner with IT and Quantitative risk lead to deliver risk control tools and reports to cover existing and evolving Trading activity.
Perform quantitative and what-if? analysis of strategies and portfolios to support Trading.
Present standardised risk reportage to business heads and
at the monthly Risk and Compliance Committee (RCC), including risk appetite breaches.
Undertaking any other such duties as may be reasonably required by the role.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
Qualified accountant ACA, CA, ACCA or equivalent is essential. Post qualified experience is an advantage.
Solid knowledge of financial and accounting procedures is essential.
Conceptual Product knowledge of: Options, swaps, futures, loans/securities lending, ETPs, FX forwards and Options.
Understanding of balance sheets and fundamentals of Credit in relation to assessment of credit and default risk.
Ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders (Trading, Ops, IT, Legal, Compliance).
Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills is essential (Python an advantage).
Methodical and meticulous attention to detail is essential.
Excellent communication, flexible and willing to learn is essential.
Proactive and solution orientated with a proven ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks and manage confidential data is essential.
