Position Summary:
The primary role involves engineering design activities focused on the electrical systems and equipment for a major facility, preparing these systems for procurement and construction phases. The candidate will utilize industry-standard software tools such as SETROUTE, BlockDraw, and ETAP in the design process.
Responsibilities:
- Provide detailed engineering designs for electrical systems, ensuring readiness for procurement and construction.
- Utilize specific design tools like SETROUTE, BlockDraw, and ETAP for system designs.
- Understand and interpret all related engineering discipline drawings, including wiring diagrams, control logic diagrams, system descriptions, calculations, and schematic representations.
- Size and specify electrical equipment and perform cable sizing calculations.
- Engage in special design tasks, calculations, and studies as needed.
- Check and validate design accuracy and compliance with codes and standards.
- Apply relevant codes, standards, and customer design requirements to the creation of design documents, specifications, and material requisitions.
Basic Qualifications:
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university with at least three years of related experience.
- Ability to complete and pass pre-employment screenings, including a drug screen, physical, and background check.
- Must be able to obtain necessary clearances for site access.
- US citizenship required.
Additional Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in Electrical Engineering, particularly in developing documentation for various design phases.
- FE/EIT certification or the ability to obtain it within 12 months.
- Proficient in electrical codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, ANSI/IEEE).
- Experience with electrical design tools such as CAD 2D and ETAP.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Preferred experience in facility construction, start-up, and maintenance.
