Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Chargemaster Specialist to join our team

JOB SUMMARY:

Oversees the use of the charge master including any changes being made to and the accuracy of all items within the charge

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Completes special projects for the Vice President of Patient Financial Services as determined.
  2. Assists in consulting internal or external as needed.
  3. Maintains responsibility for all and any changes made to the charge master.
  4. Maintains the accuracy of all items contained within the charge master.
  5. Assists in maintaining all charge tickets/sheets within the hospital for accuracy and use.
  6. Reviews pricing practices to ensure accuracy and defendability.
  7. Reviews charge master regularly to establish current and accurate charging.
  8. Maintains confidentiality.
  9. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education/Certification: Two year degree from an accredited school, preferably in a healthcare related field preferred but not required.

Experience: Three to five years' experience in similar field. CPC Certification helpful

Equipment/Technology: Working knowledge of and proficiency in the use of Windows based PC system and a range of software packages, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Language/Communication: Must communicate in a timely manner, clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Mathematical Skills: Demonstrates ability to use simple math to present data in a clear and understandable manner.

Mental Capabilities: Demonstrates ability to understand and evaluate regulations and guidelines and apply them to the setting of MVH. Can evaluate suggestions and criticisms objectively and wherever necessary undertakes to change behavior or seek further guidance. Is able to make decisions quickly and is able to identify any quality improvements needed in the organization.

Interpersonal: Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups or managers, clients, customers and the general public.

Performance: Demonstrates a clear understanding of the importance and requirements related to chargemaster and seeks opportunity to improve both self and organization. Exhibits an attitude which promotes harmony and goodwill among patients, caregivers and co-workers. Is self-motivated.
