This position performs clinical administrative support to the practice in the front office reception area. The clinical receptionist's main goal is ensure the medical office operates in a smooth and effective manner. Responsibilities to include but not limited to, welcoming medical professionals, patients and other visitors, while providing guidance and superb customer service, scheduling appointments, requesting medical records, obtaining travel vouchers, receiving and/or sending documents through the mail, email, practice software and/or fax machine, accumulating, organizing and preparing courier and mail deliveries, compiling, tracking and ordering front office supplies, answering, screening and/or forwarding telephone calls/messages to the appropriate area, maintain office security by monitoring access points in the office, inspects front office and waiting room area daily for cleanliness, patient check-in and check-out, accurately gathers and enters patient demographic information into the office database, updates patient demographics and yearly documents, obtains prior authorizations and insurance eligibility checks prior to scheduled appointments, responds to appointment request from patient portal, replies and responds to messages received via answering service, prepare clinic by reviewing schedules, requesting records, responds to record requests and collects fees associated with records request, collects all copays/coinsurance/deductibles/surgery copays at the time of service as directed, daily deposits, change orders, and cash drawer reconciliation, confirming portal information received the day prior, daily monitoring and appointed task associated with assigned buckets, run and continuously work appointment and waiting list reports, work with answering service and respond to all correspondence, order records and returns to Valley Storage. Serves as liaison between patients and the medical support team.Perform and follow through with clerical and secretarial activities inherent to the operations and needs of the department under the direct direction of the Office Manager.
Works closely with the medical support staff to ensure efficiency and optimal delivery of health services. Multi-tasking, Flexibility, Telephone Skills, Customer Service, Time Management, Organization, Attention to Detail, Scheduling, Word Processing and Professionalism must be demonstrated daily.
