ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attend project turnover meetings with the sales and project team.
  • Design building automation systems and create project submittals/shop drawings using project plans and specifications.
  • Identify any gaps or ambiguity in the project and submit RFIs as required.
  • Establish/maintain unique customer standards while working on design/build and plan/spec projects alike
  • Develop project bill of materials and provide equipment logistics/support
  • Mentor new employees and assist in their growth
  • Select and order controllers and devices for projects.
  • Write control sequences and coordinate design intent with programmer.
  • Provide operational and technical support/direction to field operations and subcontractors
  • Obtain field markups and revise the shop drawings with any changes for owner records.
  • Maintain backups of all project documentation including record drawings on Procore.
  • Develop strong relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Escalate critical and/or sensitive issues to the Engineering Manager / Project Manager with recommendation for resolution.
  • Comply with all Company operating policies, procedures, and safety programs as established.
  • Perform additional assignments as required by the needs of the company or as directed.
PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Associate's degree in related engineering/technology field required, bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred.
  • In lieu of engineering/technical degree, a combination of verifiable DDC specific training and two or more years of experience will be considered.
  • DDC or PLC design experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of low voltage electrical wiring.
  • Experience in engineering, design, or maintenance of HVAC systems
  • Strong understanding of the fundamentals of commercial electrical, HVAC, and control theory.
  • Knowledge of the construction industry and contract documentation.
