New Haven, United States Quantum Circuits, Inc. Full time

Our founders pioneered the field of quantum computing. Now we're building them to deliver a truly revolutionary product to the world, using superconducting qubits in a modular, robust, and scalable architecture. We are looking for an RF Test Engineer to assist in implementing advanced test infrastructure. The RF Test Engineer will help with everything from initial build, through functional testing, and performance validation, to the seamless integration and successful launch of the RF control system for hundreds of qubits. This is a fast-paced, intellectually challenging opportunity to collaborate with thought leaders across multiple technology domains. We want individuals with entrepreneurial spirit, wear many hats and work in a highly collaborative environment. Our team is responsible for development and implementation of hardware and test campaigns for integrated quantum control systems. As a QCI RF Test Engineer you will be responsible for verification and validation of the RF components and systems. This includes testing, analyzing, and optimizing RF systems from baseband to microwave frequencies. You will work with RF and quantum engineers to specify test equipment requirements, develop test plans and complex test commanding scripts and execute test campaigns to support development test initiatives. Your focus will be in verification, troubleshooting and optimization of test processes. About The Team Our team is responsible for development and execution of RF systems and test plans to ensure reliable operation of the RF qubit control system. The team’s responsibilities include design, test hardware and software development and test execution for qualification and improving RF qubit control systems. The tasks and daily focus change rapidly, and you will often take on exciting new responsibilities to ensure project success. Expect to be deployed to address complex problems by identifying the scope of the issue and quickly establishing innovative and functional solutions. Key job responsibilities:

Defining test plans and procedures for lab and RF testing, based on identified requirements for subsystems and for the overall system. Develop, augment, and support testing of components, from subsystems to the full RF qubit control hardware. Implementing, validating, and optimizing RF lab set-ups composed of digital and analog subsystems and measurement equipment. Analyzing RF power budget and line-up for test set-ups and for the scaled deployed system. Analyzing and mitigating potential issues. Work with RF, quantum, mechanical, and software teams to gather requirements, design test plans, determine applicable test cases, and prepare for test execution. Own test campaigns and collaborate with responsible engineers to deliver a thoroughly tested RF qubit control system ready for launch. Develop complex test automation sequences using Python. Interpreting test results, troubleshooting issues, performing root-cause analysis for any test failures. Develop test fixtures in collaboration with RF, quantum, software, and mechanical engineers. Communicate fluidly across a variety of teams to identify risks, issues, and how they will be addressed to ensure our success. Meeting with suppliers to select enabling lab technologies. Develop innovative hardware and processes to optimize and improve testing capabilities. Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related discipline, or 3+ years of RF or related industry experience. 3+ years of experience in RF test and verification with launched products. Proficient coding skills for RF test automation using Python. Competent in operating RF and microwave equipment, including network and spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and power meters. Previous experience in testing both active and passive RF and microwave components. Strong grasp of the key performance indicators for RF components and systems. Ability to identify and resolve test-related issues effectively. Strong analytical thinking skills and the ability to prepare test reports efficiently.
