Purpose

We are seeking a highly qualified marketing and web content writer to support the marketing goals of UT Health Austin, the clinical practice of the Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin. The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication and writing skills; prior experience in a range of marketing functions, such as advertising, digital marketing, email marketing, social media management, search engine optimization (SEO), campaign management, and marketing analytics; and an interest in learning about healthcare enterprise marketing strategy and branding. Primary responsibilities for this role include developing both long- and short-form written content, such as blog posts, print and digital advertising, patient collateral, email campaigns, event handouts, and more; translating complex medical information into easily digestible content; and tracking and analyzing content performance metrics to ensure written content aligns seamlessly with the overall marketing strategy and appeals to various target audiences. The marketing content coordinator must be creative, flexible, and organized with the ability to handle many projects at once.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct one-on-one interviews with stakeholders to draft creative content for blog posts, print and digital advertising, patient collateral, email campaigns, event handouts, and more.

  • Develop engaging patient education pieces by translating complex medical information into accessible language.

  • Track and analyze content performance metrics, such as engagement, traffic, conversions, and user feedback, and use insights to initiate data-driven improvements.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of content strategies to support marketing campaigns and initiatives.

  • Identify needs/gaps in content library and regularly contribute new content ideas that help meet the immediate and long-term goals of the organization.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or journalism and at least two years of work experience as a content writer or similar role. Knowledge of digital marketing and content marketing. Excellent writing, communication, and editing skills in English. Hands-on experience with Content Management Systems (e.g., WordPress). Highly self-motivated and well organized. Interest in healthcare or a background in working in healthcare. Portfolio of published articles or other relevant content work. Sample of both long and short form writing are required of those interviewed.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Salary Range

$65,000+ depending on qualifications
