Sabre Systems is hiring a Junior Software Engineer to support one of our government customers located in Southern Maryland at Patuxent River Naval Air Station. Sabre will provide technical, analytical, and managerial support for the PEO(A) Advanced Development Team (ADT) by providing Program Management, General/Technical Support; Operations Support; Cybersecurity/Information Assurance; Application Integration; Cloud Services; Data Architecture, Design Engineering, and Management Support; Digital Solutions and Technology Development and Acceleration/Development Security Operations (DevSecOps) Support; and Virtual / Digital Integrated Modeling Environment (IME) and Capability Based Acquisition (CBA) Support.
The selected candidate will:
- Design, develop, and maintain Cameo System Model plugins to support system engineering team
- Collaborate with product owner to capture and prioritize user requirements
- Work closely with other developers to integrate plugin with other software systems
- Troubleshoot issues and provide training material for plugin users
- Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs
- Analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis
- Update software or enhance existing software capabilities
- Work with computer hardware engineers to integrate hardware and software systems, develop specifications, and performance requirements. May and maintain databases within an application area, working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team
Qualifications:
Requirements:
- A Bachelors Degree from an accredited board of engineering and technology (ABET) school in Engineering such as aerospace, chemical, electronics, industrial, human systems, mechanical, biomedical, safety, engineering systems, engineering technology or related field is required
- One (1) year of experience performing related work is required
- Working knowledge of C, C++, C#, Java, the Atlassian Tool Set, etc.
- Experience working in a DoD environment is highly desired
- Will support more senior level software developers performing functional duties with their supervision
- An active DoD Secret Clearance or higher is required
- Must be a US Citizen
- All candidates will be required to pass a background investigation
Desired Requirements:
- Proficient in Java or similar object-oriented programming language
- Experience with version control systems such as Git
- Knowledge of UML/SysML is a plus
- Familiarity with build tools such as Maven or Gradle
- Familiarity with AWS or other cloud computing platforms
