Senior Director/Vice President, Finance

Job Description As the Sr. Director/Vice President of Finance & Controller, you will be a trusted leader within the organization, reporting to the CEO and working closely with the executive leadership team, other department leaders, the board of directors, and external parties. You will oversee all aspects of financial planning & analysis, accounting, reporting, treasury, compliance, and risk management while fostering a high-performance, respectful and positive culture across all teams. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Strategic Financial Leadership Serve as a trusted partner to the CEO, CFO, and board of directors, providing financial insights that shape key strategic and operational decisions Collaborate with business leaders across departments to manage budgets, deliver scenario analysis, and provide recommendations to the board of directors Support fundraising and business development activities, including due diligence, financial modeling and investor relations Prepare and present strategic recommendations to the board of directors and its subcommittees Manage cash flow, treasury operations, and investment strategies that ensure liquidity and minimize balance sheet exposure Financial Management & Reporting Oversee timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes and reporting in compliance with GAAP Ensure strong internal controls, SOX readiness, and compliance with tax and other reporting requirements Coordinate with external auditors for the annual audit and manage related inquiries and deliverables Evaluate and implement systems and process improvements to streamline operations, enhance reporting capabilities, and promote efficient cross-functional collaboration Team Leadership & Development Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing fractional finance and accounting team Promote a collaborative, inclusive, and innovative culture aligned with organizational values Qualifications Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA strongly preferred 11 years of progressive accounting and financial experience, including 8 years in leadership roles Experience in biopharma, life sciences, or other high-growth industries Demonstrated expertise in FP&A, scenario analysis, strategic planning, treasury, and regulatory compliance Proven track record in fundraising, including partnering with PE/VC investors and leading IPO readiness or execution Strong technical expertise in GAAP, financial reporting, corporate taxation, and proven track record of leading successful audits Experience implementing and optimizing ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) Strong executive presence with demonstrated experience leading cross-functional collaboration Hands?on, results?driven financial leader with exceptional analytical, leadership, and strategic skills Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to thrive in a fast?paced environment Proven track record of building, leading, and inspiring high-performing teams Highest standards of ethics, integrity, and dependability Salary Range: $240,000-$305,000 MBrace Therapeutics is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE) we celebrate diverse experiences and welcome applicants who meet the minimum requirements.
