About us:

Solution Tree, a growing K-12 educational publishing and services company, seeks a Virtual Event Manager who will be responsible for the detailed preparation and organization of assigned Virtual, On-Demand, and in-person events including workshops, wired events, and PLC Live Institutes. They will report directly to the Assistant Director of Event Technology. They will work closely with other departments within the company, as well as many outside vendors, to provide top-quality events for educators, both virtually and in-person. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of planning and coordinating events, audiovisual knowledge, online editing programs, and virtual event platforms.

Summary of Essential Job Functions:
  • End-to-end virtual and in-person event planning from coordination, logistics, and execution.
  • Detailed logistical planning and strong organizational skills.
  • Communication with conference hosts, various service providers, presenters, and attendees.
  • Long term management of several projects simultaneously

  • Ability to manage a team of on-site staff
  • Lead multi-day virtual event with speaker preparation, session recording, and event moderation activities
  • Deliver a stellar customer experience
  • Deliver new ideas and creative approaches to constantly improve the customer experience
  • Produce events across time zones and geographies
  • Deliver post-event reports with data-driven analysis including attendee feedback and recommendations for future event improvements
  • Ability to learn new software and virtual event platforms
  • Familiarity with editing software, Adobe Premiere or Camtasia is preferred

Requirements:

This job operates in a professional environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and electronic software programs. This job requires the ability to lift 30 lbs and potentially be on foot for multiple hours when packing or working events. This role is currently hybrid. There may be additional times when it is needed to go into the office and the warehouse to pack for events in Bloomington, IN.

Travel: 20-25% of time worked

Level of Education: BA

Years of Experience: Entry-level (1-2 years preferred)
