Controls Engineer

Description: Position Summary: Designs and coordinates the control and electrical functions associated with the concept, design, detail, assembly and debugging of standard and custom equipment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1.Preparation of electrical schematics. 2. Preparation of electrical panel layouts and creation of electrical parts list for custom and standard products as assigned. 3. PLC programming of equipment. May include design and documentation of PLC programs. 4. Operator interface programming as required. 5. Communications to internal staff, customers, and vendors. 6. Follow up service of machinery at customer locations for installation assistance and/or customer training. Also, responding to requests for phone, email, or online services. [may require domestic or international travel] 7. Assist with wiring, cable routing, marking, and inspection of machinery in assembly department 8. Commissioning of electrical components and machine function during assembly portion of assigned projects. 9. Maintain professional customer relations and help to insure customer satisfaction of our product as a whole. Skills: allen bradley plc, plc programming, automation, controls engineering, electrical design, Hmi, control panel, autocad electrical, automated equipment, motion control, vision Top Skills Details: allen bradley plc,plc programming,automation,controls engineering,electrical design,Hmi Additional Skills & Qualifications: AAS with 6+ years of experience or BS with 3+ years of experience - Must come from a background within Custom Automated Equipment - 3+ years' experience with electrical design, schematics, control panel layout (AutoCAD Electrical) - 3+ years' experience with PLC programming - Allen Bradley - 3+ years' experience with HMI programming - Experience troubleshooting software, as well as machines out on the floor - Ability to interface with customers - Up to 15% travel may be required Experience Level: Intermediate LevelAbout Actalent Actalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
