Laurel Crest Retirement Community is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Community Patrol Officer (Security Guard) to join our team to create a warm hospitality experience for all our residents, staff and visitors. In this position, you will enjoy working with a passionate team to provide quality service throughout our community.

This is a temporary position with hours 8p-8a on Mon, Tues, Wed and 8p-2a on Thursday.

What you will do:

  • Responsible for the Security and Safety of our Residents, personnel, and our community including making scheduled rounds both inside and outside of building and verifying buildings are locked and secured.
  • Responsible to know all site-specific policies and procedures, and implement emergency response activities as appropriate, while providing superior customer service.
  • Responsible to respond to all fire alarms, medical emergencies (in assistance to nursing), and vehicle accidents on property and take actions as directed.
  • Assist residents with basic instructions on the operation of TV's and other electronic equipment, air conditioning controls, etc.
  • Performs light maintenance such as plunging toilets, changing light bulbs, checking fire extinguishers, changing smoke detector batteries.
Requirements

What is good to have:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner.
  • Valid SC driver's license
  • Ability to handle crisis situations calmly, and efficiently
  • Able to Work in various environments such as cold weather, rain/snow or heat
  • Climb stairs, or ramps occasionally during shift
  • Stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods of time
  • 1 or 2 years of related experience
