Night Lead Evening Custodians

Responsible to:

Building Head Custodian

Qualifications: Maintain a working knowledge of R-9 plans and procedures and report to the Head Custodian and building administrators as needed. Possess the ability to communicate effectively and work with personnel in a way that is fair and maintains high expectations of performance and behavior. Possess and maintain the ability to establish cooperative relations with school district personnel, students and parents.

Primary Functions:

Work with Head Custodian to facilitate projects and assist in supervision of custodial personnel.

General Responsibilities:

To maintain the school facilities and grounds in a condition of operating excellence, ensuring that they are safe, attractive, and efficient, and that maximum educational benefit can be achieved from their use.

Specific Duties: Report directly to the Head Custodian of the building. Assist custodians in the performance of their duties Make inspections, report equipment and repair needs, report needs for additional supplies, report absences of personnel and assume absent custodian's duties as needed Assist in the security of the area assigned Assist in the evaluation of subordinates' performances Cooperate with administration, faculty and students in moving furniture and equipment and in facilities arrangements for special events Perform regularly assigned custodial work Assist with entering data, conducting inspections Performs other duties as assigned Taking direction from the head custodian, Administrators of the building, and Director of Maintenance. Ensuring the area they are assigned to work is clean, safe, ready for the following day. Communicates effectively with the Head custodian any pertinent information needing addressed during the evening shift Is available for radio contact from administrators on the campus during events Leads the evening crew in fulfilling the nightly duties, set up and tear down of events, clean up of after hour functions, and shut down and lock up of the facility at the end of the night.

Under the general supervision of the Head Custodian, the Evening Lead Custodian works with and serves as lead worker for staff custodians engaged in evening shift custodial work. The evening lead custodian must possess a positive attitude as well as good attendance. They need to be able to help solve issues that arise through the evening shift, and notify and communicate effectively to the head custodian when needed
